The tour for you who wishes to feel Americas great nature possibly from a Harley. Arizona is the beautiful desert state with Grand Canyon as its jewel. The Hopi Native americans live in the high desert and we spend a day there with one of thier elders.

The tour
Day 1

COPENHAGEN - PHOENIX, BY AIRDeparture fropm Copenhagen. We fly "backwards in time" so we land the same day in the evening. We say welcome with a good dinner. | Day 2

PHOENIX - TUCSON. 215 KMWe get our motorbikes in Phoenix and drive south through the famous desert. Destination of the day is Tucson where we check in at an old historic hotel with lots of action. On the way we visit Biosphere2, a most impressive engineer art-work. |
Day 3

TUCSON - AJO, 215 KMA warm day in the Sonora desert. In the morning we visit Pima Airfield with 4000 planes, then drive to the top of Kitt Peak, from where we have a magnificient view of the landscape far into Mexico. We have a look at the world's largest solar observatory. At the border of Mexico we take a walk in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and have a closer look at the huge saguaro cacti. We stay at a motel in the little desert town of Ajo. | Day 4

AJO - KINGMAN, 415 KMFrom the warm desert we drive north through desert an the Tohono O'Odham people's land, the "desert people". This is the longest day of the tour and we will reach Kingman by sunset. The old railway city at Route 66 where the trains still make up a good part of the soundscape.
We sleep like cowboys in a historic hotel by the railroad. |
Day 5

KINGMAN - GRAND CANYON, 280 KMThis day is devoted to Route 66, the first road connection from the east to the west, starting in Chicago and ending in California. Precisely here in West Arizona Route 66 with the hotels, the gas stations and the folklore is preserved at its best. Here you get your kicks on a Harley on Route 66.
We keep going north and do not stop till we are at the very edge of Grand Canyon.
We stay in a hotel in the park in walking distance from the rim. | Day 6
GRAND CANYON - HOPI RESERVATET, 215 KMThe sporty can take an early morning walk down a bit on the track towards the Colorado river, far down in the Grand Canyon. We drive along the rim and make several stops to take in the view. Navajos sell silver jewelery. In the afternoon we reach the stark lands of the Hopi, one of the West's oldest tribes. We spend the night at the Hopi cultural center. |
Day 7

HOPI RESERVATET - HVILEDAG, 0 KMWe spend two nights with the Hopis and have time to hear about their life and cultural universe and to admire their famous traditional crafts. We visit Orabi, their oldest and still populated village, founded before the first white people came to North America. We spend the night again at the Hopi cultural center.
| Day 8

HOPI RESERVATET - SNOWFLAKE, 250 KMWe leave the Hopis and enter the area of the Navajos, one of North Americas large Indian tribes. We drive through the fantastic Petrified Forest to small-town Snowflake, founded by Mormons. Here we will stay at the most special hotel of the tour. A surprise. |
Day 9

SNOWFLAKE - PHOENIX, 315 KMWe are heading south, down towards the warm lowlands. In the afternoon we arrive back in Phoenix and say goodbye to the motorbikes. We will celebrate our Arizona-adventures with a good dinner in Phoenix.

DEPARTURE PHOENIXYou may shop, visit some of Arizona's famous museums or just relax in the warm southern sun before we catch our plane back to Europe. |
Day 11

ARRIVAL COPENHAGENStop-over in London 12:30-14:15. We arrive to Copenhagen 17:10. |
